Background

Hey y’all! Welcome to Barron Bucket List.

First off, thank you so much for checking out our little corner of the internet!! I started my first blog in college, (Maddie Lately is what I named it, original right?) only told a few of my closest friends about it, and created a total of maybe 5 or 6 posts. As you can guess, that pursuit slowly faded out as I never really sat down and put a lot of time into it. I don’t think Instagram was even around then! Now days, I don’t feel like I have any more free time than I used to – just more intentional about making time for things that are important to me. After receiving lots of questions for recommendations and itineraries, combined with my desire to remember some of the fun trips we’ve been on and experiences we’ve shared together – I’ve decided it was about time to give it another shot!

Something else many of you may not know about me is that I studied Travel & Tourism during my undergrad at Texas A&M! Traveling and exploring places outside of where I’m from has always been a huge passion of mine.

My name is Maddie. My husband, Matthew, and I recently bought our first house together in Houston! I work downtown but my job requires me to travel often and Matt is a Sales Director so naturally his job entails a lot of travel as well. Despite the challenges and setbacks, God has been so good and we will never take it for granted!

Matt and I met at Texas A&M University in 2012, started dating January 2015, got engaged on the same day 3 years later, and married in February 2019! He studied Industrial Engineering and I have a Masters in Human Resource Management from Mays Business School at Texas A&M. We have so much in common but are also opposite in many ways. That’s one of the reasons why we work so well I think. We’re the type of people who like to “work hard, play hard”. We deeply care about the people in our lives, we both need to be constantly challenged, and we love to travel together! We are expecting our first baby boy in September and while it has had it’s challenges during COVID, we could not be more excited and thankful to take on this new phase of life together.

I should also tell you we don’t have an actual “bucket list” where we write down all of the things that we want to do and places we want to go, although I think that’s a good idea and maybe we will eventually. The creation of Barron Bucket List really stemmed from my desire to share about our favorite travel experiences, life as we know it, and hopefully provide you with some great recommendations through our own trial and error. I would love to hear about your favorite experiences and trips as well! Thanks so much for reading along.

Cheers!
